Here at Heartland Veterinary Clinic, we have a few important policies in place to ensure the safety of both our clients and our patients. Please take a moment to review our client policies before scheduling an appointment or visiting us.

Late Arrival Policy:
We operate primarily by appointment to allow plenty of time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures. However, emergency cases will receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable.
Please note that we make every effort to see each patient/client on time and ask each client to be on time for their appointment. Unfortunately, when even one patient arrives late, it can throw off the rest of that days' schedule. In addition, rushing or “squeezing in” an appointment may contribute to decreased quality of care. Therefore, if you arrive 10 minutes or more late to your pet's scheduled appointment you may be asked to reschedule. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.
Cancellation of an Appointment: In order to be respectful of the medical needs of other patients, please call our office promptly if you are unable to keep your appointment. If you must cancel your scheduled appointment, we ask that you call at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments are often in high demand, and your early cancellation will allow another patient to receive veterinary care.
Appointment No Show Policy: A “no show” is a client who misses an appointment without cancelling it. A failure to be present at the time of a scheduled appointment will be recorded in the patient’s chart.
The first time there is a “no show”, we will contact you via phone/text/email to inform you of the missed appointment and remind you of our “no show” policy. You will be required to prepay a $50 deposit to schedule another appointment which will be put towards that visit.
A 2nd occurrence will result in no refund of the $50 deposit. You will be able to reschedule one final appointment with a prepaid $50 deposit.
The 3rd occurrence within one year will result in you being discharged from the practice and the second $50 deposit will not be returned.
We appreciate your patience, understanding and support in these trying times and want to do all we can to serve your needs.
All dogs must be on a non-retractable leash and properly controlled while in the lobby or exam rooms. All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a non-retractable leash. This is for your protection and that of others.
We offer drop-off appointments for your convenience. If you schedule a drop-off appointment, you will bring your pet to our office between 7:30 and 8:30 am (by appointment) and he or she will remain at the clinic for a few hours. You will speak with one of our technicians to discuss the reason for that day's visit and other pertinent information. The doctor will then examine your pet in between appointments or at the time reserved for admitted patients. Once the doctor is done, they will give you a call to go over the diagnosis and to give you discharge instructions. When you arrive to pick up your pet, the technician or doctor will go over any further questions that you may have, medication directions, at-home care, etc.
We do not offer any in-house financing. Payment in full is due at the time services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, CareCredit, cash, personal checks, and Scratchpay.
