A native Virginian, Dr Hecking completed her undergraduate study at Virginia Tech and went on to receive her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Dr Hecking has been practicing equine and small animal medicine throughout her career. Her veterinary medicine interests include dentistry, surgery, and preventative care. Dr Hecking is certified in acupuncture adding to her western medical and surgical training.
Dr Hecking lives in Lexington, VA with her partner, Drew, his two daughters and their fur family – three dogs, one horse, and a multitude of cows and sheep. In her free time, Dr Hecking enjoys eventing with her horse, Ranon, gardening, cooking, travel and creating mosaic glass art.
