What is your pet eating?

Are you concerned that your pet's current diet is just not cutting it? Is your pet gaining/losing weight? Are they constantly begging and never seem full? Do they get into the trash or counter surf? Join the club! 

Talk to your veterinarian to discuss a diet that will work for your pet's needs. Maybe they are not getting enough fiber or maybe they have something going on internally that is effecting their metabolism. Whatever your questions or concerns talk to your pet's veterinarian to determine the best meal plan/plan of action for your loved one!

Treats: Keep to a minimum

You can certainly over-treat your pet but if kept to a minimum, they are a great way to reward them for good behavior. Here are some healthy recipes to motivate your pet!

Crunchy Cat Treats

Ingredients:
1 (5 oz) Canned pink salmon or tune, no salt added and packed in water, drained
1 cup oat flour*
1 large egg
2 tbsp olive oil
1 heaping tbsp dried catnip

1. * It’s easy to make your own oat flour. Simply grind old-fashioned oats in a spice grinder (or a super clean coffee grinder) until it is transformed into a light powder. There you have it – oat flour!

Banana Oatmeal Dog Treat

Ingredients:
1 ripe banana (this is a great way to use that last banana sitting on your counter looking a bit mushy)
2 tbsp. coconut oil
1 cup oatmeal (we used the quick 1-minute oats type)
Directions:
1. In a bowl mix ingredients thoroughly until combined. Set aside and let sit 10 minutes.
